Gong Meditation

An integrative approach combining gong sound healing, meditative guidance, conscious breath, somatic awareness, and poetry -  guided by the principles of Yoga Nidra, Kundalini Yoga, Polyvagal Theory, and Craniosacral Therapy

Gong meditation is a deeply restorative practice that utilizes the powerful sound vibrations of gongs with guided meditation to facilitate relaxation and healing. During a gong meditation session, participants typically lie down in a comfortable position while gongs are played, producing a rich tapestry of resonant sounds. These sounds can help quiet the mind, reduce stress, and promote a state of deep relaxation. The vibrations from the gong are believed to help release emotional blockages and tension, allowing for a more profound connection with one's inner self. This sonic experience can lead to enhanced mental clarity, improved mood, and a sense of rejuvenation, making gong meditation an effective tool for holistic well-being.

In a Gong Meditation session, I honor the principles of Yoga Nidra seen through the lenses of Craniosacral Therapy, Kundalini Yoga, and Polyvagal Theory. You may be guided on a journey through your own fascial or nervous systems. You may breathe prana throughout your energy body (the chakras). You may be invited to awaken your Hara, your deepest well of energy and connection. You may hear quotes or poetry. Gong meditation can create within us the deepest levels of meditation achieved by well practiced yogis. In this deep meditative state, the consequences of stress can be reversed. Blood pressure and cortisol levels drop. The heart rate slows and the body begins the process of rejuvenation and healing. The benefits of entering this state on a regular basis are that the unpleasant symptoms of insomnia, anxiety, depression, addiction, and PTSD are reduced.
