About The Event
BRING: 2 blankets, a camping pad or thick yoga mat, a bolster for under knees and neck, an eye cover, and a water bottle.
Immerse yourself in sound where you can feel the frequency in the deepest parts of your body. The gongs help to easily create a meditative state where the brain emits healing theta waves, while Yoga Nidra, an ancient practice of breath and body and awareness techniques, helps to guide you to a state of non-doing.  Effortlessly release the struggling and striving to get somewhere and practice the art of doing nothing to arrive exactly where you want to be. This practice will create a full-body listening experience that can bring balance, relaxation, and calm to your whole being.
The body is its own healer, it knows how to heal itself. However it needs the right environment to do so. The practice of yoga Nidra  guides us into a state of non-doing, a highly regenerative state where the energy normally burned by the mind is fully freed to heal and restore the body. The healing energy of the body, freed from the thoughts of the mind, can become a spiritual force, unlocking inner guidance, knowing and insight into your true nature.
The sounds of the gongs  provide a stable frequency for fluctuating brain waves to latch on to, in a process known as entrainment. Using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves, and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and reach theta (meditative state) where deep internal healing can occur.
The combination of the gongs with Yoga Nidra can create within us the deepest levels of meditation achieved by well practiced yogis. In this state, the consequences of stress are reversed. Blood pressure and cortisol levels drop. The heart rate slows and the body begins the process of rejuvenation and healing. The benefits of entering this state on a regular basis are that the unpleasant symptoms of insomnia, anxiety, depression, addiction, and PTSD are reduced.
